2007 Tournament Team

Hunter had try outs on Thursday, June 14th and according to him..."I sucked and I need to try out again". So, on the second try out date of the 17th, he attempted another try out. He felt much more confident and by the next week, he was called with the news that HE MADE THE TEAM! He will be catching, pitching and playing 2nd base.

His first game was on the 29th and it was the best game I have seen him play. He had 7 strike outs with 10 batters in the first 2 innings; played 2nd base the 4th & 5th innings; caught the 6th inning...NO STEALS! No one even had the chance to run/steal on him...he was awesome!

The All-Star Game Proves Too Much For Madelynn

She tried to hang on, but the "ninny" got the best of her.

Hunter is Selected for the 2007 All Star Team!

On May 20th, LFYAA held their 2007 All-Star game for the Mustang League. Hunter was selected as both a pitcher and a catcher (Mom feels he's a natural catcher & hopes his facination with pitching wears off).

Hunter played 1st base, 3rd base, pitched 1 inning and caught 2 innings.

Final Score...13 - 12...Hunter's team won in the bottom of the 6th!

Our New Baby!

Kona Creswell arrived Saturday, April 28, 2007. She was 15 lbs at her 1st checkup and the vet said she definitely had "100 lb paws" (great). Her actual birthday was March 5, 20o7, so when we got her she was 8 weeks old. She is 3/4 Chocolate Lab and 1/4 Rottie. She is absolutely adorable, but the puppy teeth are a terror!

Hunter loves her, Maddy is facinated by her and the cats just keep their distance for now.

Saturday Gala Awards Evening...

It was like the Grammy's! I thought the Gold plated Motorola KRZR phone with my name engraved on the back was over the top, but after dinner they announced that our "Concert Under the Stars" would be performed by Michael Bolton! WOW...what an ending! You can tell by my picture just how "small" the venue was...we were sitting in the 3rd row of andorondak chairs.

Friday Night "Party Night"

WOW!!! Friday night was totally amazing! It was a 50's & 60's theme and they actually built a Diner (MotoDiner), a Bar with a '57 Chevy coming out of the front of it (BarMoto), a Drive In Theatre (The MotoMovies), Concession Stand (for MotoMunchies) and HUGE stage for the band and tons of props (including Elvis & Marilyn)!

Dinner was AMERICAN! Yeah...hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and the Diner had Chicken Pot Pie, Meatloaf and my favorite appetizers...Rootbeer Floats!

My Husband is Awesome!

Charlie's HARD work gets us to Hawaii!!! That's right...Hawaii! I am so proud of Charlie...he works so hard, but still find the time to be a great husband and father.
Charlie was chosen as one of the top 10% of Motorola worldwide! As appreciation for his hard work, Motorola took the top 10% to Hawaii (The Big Island) for 5 days and went all out!
These pictures are when we first arrived at the hotel; us on our balcony; and the view from our balcony.
There are more events and pictures to follow!

It's Spring!

Maddy had a trip to the doctors today for ANOTHER ear infection, so I thought she might enjoy some fresh air at the park. We took our lunch & ate at the park, then played for a while. I think it definitely made her feel better. Especially since she wanted to brave the "big kid" enclosed slide. I dropped her inside the tube and ran to the bottom, just in time to catch her unconventional method of sliding.
She seemed to enjoy it!

Roosters come out in the Spring?

Apparently they were attracted to Maddy's floral capris. As soon as she walked up the pen, they all came out of the "house" and started crowing. Maddy found the sounds deafening and they totally freaked her out. She ran for the safety of the stroller, then just glared at them while they crowed.

Happy Birthday G!!!

Happy Birthday G!!!

It was "Grandmother's" birthday and we had a great dinner at Carrabba's. G got beautiful pearl earrings, which is the first of many payments, that will need to be made to her for taking care of her delightful grandchildren, while Charlie and I are in Hawaii (again)!

We hope Grandmother had a great birthday and per Hunter, "I love G so much she just couldn't believe it"!

A Night at Grandmom and Granddad's

FINALLY! Chris (our nephew) and Hunter have had the opportunity to spend the night at Grandmom's. It was President's Day and snow on the ground...what a combination! According to Granddad, "they had a blast"!

Momma's Babies

Hunter asked if he could sit with me while we were watching TV and Maddy got a little jealous, so they both had to have a spot on my lap.

Maddy doesn't take up too much room, but Hunter is certainly getting bigger! He was at the doctors the other day for his allergies and he weighed in at 95.1 lbs. It kinda freaked him out a little because all he kept saying is, "I can't play for the 105's" (the 105 lb football team...he wants to only move up 1 group to the 95 lb team).

Now it's Maddy's Turn To Cook

Hunter had his chance at cooking, now it's Maddy's turn! I gave her some pots, pans, bowls and spoons, but her favorite seemed to be the chicken frying pan.

Ahhh ahhh, Hunter

There's nothing Maddy loves more than when Hunter lays on the floor of the family room. It's an automatic jungle gym! Every now and then I have to remind her, "Love Hunter...don't hurt him".

Hunter's First REAL Shiner...

Hunter had spent the night with his friend Chase and they were playing football. They both went to dive for the ball and POW! Chase's knee found Hunter's eye. I, of course, asked the most important question..."Did you catch the ball"? :)

Dinner Made Easy

As many of you know, I frequent "Let's Dish" as a way to expedite our dinner process. Hunter decided that he wanted to go with me to help. I was amazed at how much of help he was! He jumped right in and helped make half of the 16 dinners we were to prepare. And of course, the women loved him and I think that helped him trudge through the 2 hours of meal preparation. Ever since Hunter was about 3 years old, he has said he wants to be a "Cooker" when he grows up and this experience seemed to spark that interest again. If I could only get him to think that cooking dinner every night was a treat and get him to not ask, "How much do I get paid for this?".

Medieval Times

We bought Hunter tickets to Medieval Times for Christmas...that's Christmas 2005! It's taken us over a year to coordinate the trip, but we finally did it. To me...it was like a poorly produced, middle ages soap opera; Charlie like the food better than the show; Hunter thought it was great...but needed more realistic fighting and blood (typical 9 year old). Also, Hunter needed to point out to me that "it's kinda lame that the swords wobble". But all in all, it was a fun night out.

Oh, and if you decide to go to Medieval Times and you have ANY allergies...use caution! It sent me into an asthma attack. Horses, dust, and the front row don't mix well.
